3/14/2017: Aquarium of the Bay Debuts New Event Room

Host Your Next Event Under the Bay

SAN FRANCISCO, CA –March 14, 2017 - Aquarium of the Bay is proud to announce the opening of its new 863-square-foot event space, featuring stellar views of San Francisco Bay. Situated adjacent to the Aquarium’s North American River Otter Gallery, the Farallon Room is now available for private events including cocktail receptions, birthday parties, sit down dinners, presentations, meetings, holiday parties, and more. In addition, the outdoor patio can be utilized and tented to extend your event outside, right above the PIER 39 marina.
The Farallon Room is ideal for receptions of up to 70 people, and can be rented by itself or in combination with the Aquarium’s other exhibits for larger parties, including the North American River Otter Gallery (where the Aquarium’s resident river otters will join in on the fun), and the Touch the Bay Gallery (where guests can touch animals including sharks, bat rays, sea stars, and anemones). Planners also have the option to rent out the full 50,000-square-foot Aquarium, where guests can share a cocktail with a shark as they explore crystal clear tunnels filled with over 20,000 marine animals. With a variety of options to choose from, Aquarium of the Bay can accommodate events for 20-500 guests.
When hosting events at Aquarium of the Bay, planners are simultaneously giving back to our local ecosystems. Proceeds from each event at Aquarium of the Bay support the organization’s education and conservation initiatives by helping to fund various programs, including free science and conservation focused field trips for over 25,000 Bay Area school kids; coastal cleanups around San Francisco; and data collection research to conduct analysis on our Bay, ocean, and rivers. Additionally, as a certified San Francisco Green Business, Aquarium of the Bay creates fun and sustainably produced experiences that inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed.
Aquarium of the Bay is conveniently located within close proximity to numerous hotels in the historic Fisherman’s Wharf district and is accessible by public transportation. Dedicated event staff are on-hand for each event to ensure a smooth event from start to finish for a stress-free planning experience. Optional event services and equipment include coat check, custodial staff, A/V equipment, tables, chairs, and linens.
This stunning venue is situated along San Francisco’s renowned waterfront, where the beautiful San Francisco Bay and glistening city lights offer an exquisite view from the second-level deck. Inside, illuminating jellies, swirling schools of anchovies, and other aquatic animals act as a unique backdrop, ensuring your next event is one for the books.
