Classroom programs offer your students a more formal education experience in our new classroom by K-Dock, home of the world famous PIER 39 sea lions. They can be coupled with a self-guided tour of the Aquarium to further enhance your visit.Program Length: 1 hour

Between the Tides: What is life like between the tides? Discover the amazing tidepool animals that have learned how to thrive in the ever-changing habitat where the waves meet the rocky shore. Note: Limit 20 students per program.
Lower Elementary (1st – 3rd grade)
Flukes and Flippers: Marine mammals are warm-blooded and air-breathing, just like people, but they have amazing adaptations that help them live in the water. Learn how marine mammals survive in their aquatic environment.
Salmon!: Experience the incredible life cycle of salmon. Follow the life of a salmon from egg to adulthood, when it leaves the open ocean to return to its birth stream in the San Francisco Bay’s watershed.
Upper Elementary (3rd – 5th grade)
Food Web of the Bay: Explore the beautiful and complex ecology of the San Francisco Bay and discover the role we play in maintaining its balance.
Sensational Sea Lions: Visit PIER 39’s famous sea lions and learn what makes these animals so amazing.
Middle School and High School (6th-12th)
Bay Science Lab: Explore one of the most dynamic and diverse ecosystems in the world, using the same tools that scientists use to study the San Francisco Bay.
Important information regarding reservations for the 2013-2014 school year:
- Teachers in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) can submit Reservation Request Forms starting August 14, 2013.
- All other Bay Area schools can submit Reservation Request Forms starting August 28, 2013.
- All Reservation Request Forms must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to your trip date.
