Sylvia Earle Academic (SEA) Scholarship

We are incredibly excited to announce that in recognition of Dr. Sylvia Earle’s Lifetime Contributions dedicated to bringing Awareness and Action, Aquarium of the Bay has instituted the Sylvia Earle Academic (SEA) Scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate student aspiring to study marine biology, ocean conservation, climate change or a related field. The scholarship period will begin in 2022, and will be the equivalent of $8,000 annually. Applicants will need to send proof of enrollment at an accredited univeristy, and a ~500 word essay on your professional and personal aspirations as it relates to ocean conservation, climate change, and environmental stewardship. Deadline to apply December 15th, 2021. Award winner will be announced on June 8th, 2022 (World Oceans Day). Applications for the Sylvia Earle Academic Scholarship can be emailed to [email protected].
